Be part of Australia’s health standards community.
Individual Membership is designed for people who want to participate in HL7 Australia in their own capacity and contribute to the development, implementation and adoption of health information standards in Australia. It provides a direct way to build your knowledge, contribute your experience and connect with others working across health standards, digital health and healthcare.
Health information standards are strengthened by the knowledge and experience of the people who develop, implement and use them.
Individual Membership gives you the opportunity to participate in the HL7 Australia community, contribute your perspective and stay connected with standards development relevant to your work.
Our individual members come from across healthcare, technology, government, research, academia, consulting and industry. You do not need to be a standards expert to become involved.
As an Individual Member, you can participate in relevant HL7 Australia activities, build your understanding of health information standards and connect with others working across the standards community.
Individual Members hold one vote at HL7 Australia General Meetings and Member ballots, providing a formal voice within HL7 Australia’s member-based governance and standards community.

I work on healthcare IT standards because it's one of the few things I can do that makes a real difference to the care my family will get — and everyone else's family too. HL7 Australia has always been an open, generous community in service of that, and some of my best professional relationships have come out of it

Having spent many years contributing to digital health standards in Australia and internationally, I have seen first-hand how standards can translate expertise and collaboration into safer, more connected healthcare. HL7 Australia has been an important part of that journey for me, providing a strong connection between our Australian digital health community and the international standards community.
It has been a privilege to be part of the development of Health Informatics from its infancy to become a core component of clinical care. HL7 Standards and the HL7 Community have been key enablers of consistent semantic representation for health data and interoperability. This has made possible the provision of the information needed at the point of clinical care decision making to optimise health outcomes.
Individual Membership provides a direct way for people to participate in HL7 Australia and contribute to the health standards community in their own capacity.

Individual Membership provides opportunities to learn through participation, engage with people working across different parts of the health system and contribute the practical experience you bring from your own role or area of expertise.
Whether you work in clinical care, technology, standards, policy, research, implementation, architecture, product development or another area connected to health information, your perspective can contribute to the standards development community.
Individual Membership is suited to people who want to participate in HL7 Australia in their own capacity rather than as a representative of an organisation.
It may be the right fit if you want to build your knowledge of health information standards, participate in standards development activities, connect with the HL7 Australia community or contribute experience from your own professional role.
If you are participating primarily on behalf of an employer, business or consultancy, Silver Membership may be a better fit. Eligible tertiary students can access Student Membership at a reduced annual fee.
